Position is Located in either the Norwalk, CT or Itasca IL office. 


Position Overview: 

Providing analysis using the company general ledger (Workday), data warehouse (SQL/PowerBI) and other databases for finance and portfolio performance analysis, reporting key performance indicators and supporting the finance functions (Accounting, FP&A, Treasury and Tax). Act as a Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) partnering with IT to move towards a next generation reporting and analysis environment. Performs analysis on the key data elements to identify trends which drive business decisions. The position also requires the maintenance and development of the budgets and forecasts. Utilizes data warehouse and other applications to create monthly and ad hoc reports to provide better information to Mitsubishi HC Capital America, Inc. (MHCA) management and reduce manual effort.  

 

Facilitate reporting company key financial metrics, information and measures such as: 

  • Workday implementation scheduled for August 2025 implementation.
    • Develop key accounting reports from Workday.
      • Business segment P&L and Balance Sheet.
      • Legal entity P&L and Balance Sheet.
      • Tax reporting.
      • Key performance indicators (KPIs).
      • Other analytical views as determined by businesses.
  • Analyze current reports and document business rules from data warehouse for inclusion into future Business Intelligence (BI) environment.
    • Delinquency reporting.
    • Tax reporting.
    • User friendly reporting of KPIs.
  • Definition and communication of key data fields and metrics to be built by IT in new environment.
  • Identify candidate reports and processes for key data element consolidation and automation.
  • Work with IT team to drive data consistency.
  • Update current reporting from legacy data warehouse and GL to new environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

(List in order of time spent) 

  • Develop reporting from the new Workday general ledger to support Accounting, FP&A and Tax.
  • Contribute to the build and ownership of the budget model (Currently Excel) including maintaining model integrity and collection of necessary existing portfolio data from operating systems/ data warehouse.
    • Develop and help implement the Workday Adaptive module (calendar Q4 2025).
  • Collaborate with SVP FP&A and FP&A Manager(s) to gather necessary model inputs and assumptions from GM’s, functional leaders and management; documenting assumptions and periodic reviews of inputs and assumptions with senior management.
  • Monitor market metrics and industry information for comparison of key data elements by analyzing portfolio using standardized methodology to provide senior management with the appropriate data to drive business decisions.
  • Provide key metrics and analytics based on plan model to support presentations and reports for both internal and Japan submissions.  
  • Collaborate with Accounting group and IT to identify appropriate systems and tools to properly account for new business opportunities.
  • Support Accounting and Reporting group to ensure data is available for disclosures, requests from Japan, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with IT group to develop the data warehouse and standardize financial reporting and analysis capabilities.

Qualifications: 

  • Experience with Workday a key requirement.
  • Expert skills using Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid working knowledge of loan and lease accounting.
  • SQL and PowerBI reporting.
  • Ability to collaborate and cooperate with others, understanding the process objectives to meet business needs.

Education and Experience: 

  • 10 years’ work experience.
  • 5 years in the Financial Services and/or Leasing sector, preferred.
  • Preferable a 4-year degree in Finance or Financial Information Systems or equivalent experience.
  • FP&A experience or other relevant facets in the leasing industry.
  • Experience with multinational company a plus.

 

Licensing and Certification:  

  • Workday or other reporting certifications a plus.

 

Working Hours:  

  • In office 5 days per week.
  • Hours may vary and will require evening work depending on business needs.

 

Tools and Equipment Used:  

  • Personal computer, copier, phone, and other typical office equipment.

 

Travel:  

  • Minimal.

 

Physical Demands: 

  • Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment
  • Light lifting and carrying of supplies, files, etc.
  • Ability to speak to and hear customers and/or other employees via phone or in person.
  • Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move from one office location to another.

The position is exempt, and salary will be between $185,000 and $215,000 with an opportunity to earn a discretionary annual bonus. 

 

The salary range is determined and based on internal equity, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills, prior relevant experience and education.

Salary : $185,000 - $215,000
