This position will be located in either our Itasca, IL or Norwalk, CT office. We are offering a hybrid schedule of four days in the office and one day remote.
Position Overview :
The Salesforce Principal Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of Mitsubishi HC Capital America, Inc. (MHCCNA)'s Salesforce solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of Salesforce architecture and the ability to lead technical projects from inception to completion.
This role assumes accountability for ensuring the dependable, efficient, and secure operation and advancement of MHCCNA's Salesforce instances to effectively meet crucial business needs. As a lead figure in the organization, the incumbent will manage intricate projects and offer technical leadership and guidance in all Salesforce related matters for the Company.
Commitment to Internal Control :
The Principal Data Engineer is required to possess a comprehensive understanding of and adhere to the system of internal controls associated with the fundamental duties and responsibilities of the role. This includes compliance with SOX and all other pertinent regulatory and compliance policies and requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
The responsibility of Principal Data Engineer encompasses the entire lifecycle of the Salesforce environments that underpin the vital business requirements of MHCCNA. This includes the design, development, implementation, operation, and ongoing support of these critical systems.
The role necessitates the capacity to explore and grasp emerging technologies while collaborating closely with peer teams to establish strategic roadmaps and priorities. The ability to swiftly acquire and proficiently apply hands-on administration skills is essential. As a Subject Matter Expert in technical requirements, this position will play a crucial role in supporting and implementing Salesforce projects, as well as engaging effectively with users and other IT staff.
Lead the design and architecture of Salesforce solutions, ensuring they meet business requirements and are scalable, secure, and efficient.
Develop custom Salesforce applications and integrations using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and Salesforce APIs.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Creating comprehensive technical specification documents and application interface designs.
Leading and participating in design discussions, code reviews, and project-related team meetings.
Providing mentoring and guidance to junior team members, promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving.
Ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
Apply expert-level analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve intricate technical issues.
Stay current with Salesforce features, releases, and industry trends.
Evaluate and recommend new Salesforce tools and technologies.
Ensuring security and compliance with relevant regulations and best practices in all operations.
Aid in troubleshooting and resolving data and system issues, stepping in when necessary to address outages and challenges.
Handle other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned or needed.
KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators ) :
- Deliver Salesforce solutions that are 95% defect-free provided adequate written business requirements, development time, and business test review were afforded during the project. This standard does not apply to legacy remediation efforts or ready to serve emergency production response activities.

- These are overarching KPI metrics that are applicable to all goals that are defined over the course of the business year.

Qualifications :
Extensive experience with Salesforce development, including Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Components, and Salesforce APIs.
Proven experience in designing and implementing complex Salesforce solutions.
Strong understanding of Salesforce architecture, data modeling, and security.
Experience with integration tools and middleware (e.g., MuleSoft, Informatica).
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Showcase excellent communication and presentation skills for effective collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in requirements analysis, design, and prototyping.
Demonstrated experience of turning business use cases and requirements into technical solutions.
Strong collaboration and experience working with remote teams.
Strong analytical skills and a drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
Experience working with third party providers and vendors for critical support requirements.
Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Technical Architect, Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II) are highly desirable.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years of related experience.
10 years of hands-on with software design and development, and application integration using Salesforce.
5 years of Salesforce implementation experience.
3 years of experience in a Lead Salesforce development or architect role.
2 years of experience on the Lightning Platform.
4 years of experience with Integration technologies.
Experience in Agile methodologies.
Working Hours / Travel Requirements :
Hours may vary and will require periodic overtime, including occasional evening and weekends, depending on business needs.
On call 24x7 for emergency support.
Occasional travel for business meetings, seminars or training may be required.

The position is exempt, and salary will be between $154,000.00 and $192,500.00 with an opportunity to earn an annual bonus.
The salary range is determined and based on internal equity, market data / ranges, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience and education.
