Position Overview:
Responsible for day-to-day monitoring and management of key Credit Planning responsibilities and objectives with focus on (1) Model Risk management (2) Risk Evaluation/ Assessment & (3) Risk based Pricing (4) Business Process Maximization. Partner with Functional and Business Unit counterparts to prevent and or mitigate Firm-wide Risk through active, monitoring, and management of Key Risk Metrics as well as Risk Appetite including Tolerances and Thresholds. Enhance scope and utility of Key Risk Indicator (KRI) program ensuring metrics promote linkage between Risk Appetite and Strategic Objectives. Manage Risk Reporting ensuring key content (metrics, trends, KRIs, and analytics) is clear and actionable with output that is Repeatable, Reliable, Automated, and Readily Accessible. Partner with Business Unit Chief Credit Officers and Operational Leaders to enhance prospective Risk View and overall utility of Credit Committee quarterly reviews. Execute key Risk responsibilities essential to bad debt expense modeling and management including key inputs for Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses (ALLL), including data validation, Reserve Model continuity confirmation (inputs and outputs), and documentation of process updates. Lead Enterprise and Operational Risk training and Risk Awareness Campaigns for the Firm including content development, instruction, communication, and updates. Partner with MHCA and Business Unit Risk Management Leadership to promote consistency, applicability, and adoption of core Enterprise Risk fundamentals across the organization.

- Evaluates and assesses efficiency of internal processes to enhance productivity while mitigating enterprise risk exposure.
- Responsible for maintaining internal control system which is tested and reported out on regularly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Day to day management of Credit Planning Framework including identification, evaluation, assessment, management and monitoring of Risks throughout Firm’s functions and Business Units.
- Partner with Business Process Owners throughout Firm to establish Key Metrics, and outcomes for credit risk management.
- Monitor Enterprise-wide risk-based pricing performance Work with Chief Credit Planning Officer and Chief Credit Officer to mature current and prospective credit risk analytical levels by reviewing performance vs expected and adjust as necessary.
- Take Lead Risk Role in managing, key Credit Planning reporting content and rhythms with focus on continuous improvement and enhanced transparency. Partner with Business Intelligence and Data Teams to ensure all dashboards and reports are repeatable, reliable, and real-time. Continuously seek feedback to ensure products are easy to use, accessible, and actionable.
- Day-to-day management of Risk-related Business Process Improvements including partnering with Business Process owners to confirm performance expectations, testing expectations vs performance, identifying whether process improvements are having intended impact. Managing any needed adjustments while working across the organization to fully understand implications of business process change
- Execute key bad debt expense Risk responsibilities essential to establishment of Allowance for Loan and Lease Losses (ALLL), including data validation, Reserve Model continuity confirmation (inputs and outputs), and documentation of process updates.
- Assist in Enterprise risk policy setting, and overall Firm Governance construct.
- Conduct Credit Planning audit and assessment procedures, where necessary, including composing summary memos and preparing working papers.
- Enhance and further develop Enterprise Risk Management training and awareness protocols across the Enterprise (including Fraud Risk Management and Fraud Prevention).
KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators:
- Model Risk Management: Manage model, credit and otherwise, performance and assessment.
- Risk based pricing performance maximization: Develop/Manage/Oversee implementation of Risk based pricing reporting dashboard and enhancement actions.
Responsibility and Decision-Making Authority:
Act independently; Decision making within company policy.
Management/Supervisory Responsibilities:
Work with Business Process owners to maximize efficiencies and minimize risk.
Qualifications:
- Previous success leading cross-functional Process Mapping sessions with ability to foster stakeholder identification of process gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Strong understanding of Financial Services Industry. Experience in a regulated environment/ industry a plus.
- Previous experience and participation with Risk Identification and Assessment at a Bank or Financial Services Firm.
- Comfortable working with and analyzing large data sets. Prior experience turning data into metrics.
- Previous experience with bad debt expense management including ALLL at a bank or Financial Services Firm. Previous participation in reserve methodology and reserve setting a plus.
- General understanding of how data is organized and staged within an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Vision, Access, and PowerPoint. Ability to build dashboards with tools such as Power BI, helpful if also have knowledge of SAP Business Objects, SAS, or SQL.
- Six Sigma Training and/or strong process focus a plus.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of experience in Banking/ Financial Services Industry. Direct experience in risk management and/or pricing preferred.

Working Hours:
- Hours may vary and will require some evening work; frequently requires working 40-45 hours/week depending on business needs.

- Light lifting and carrying of supplies, files, etc.

The salary will be between $96,370.00 and $114,700.00 with an opportunity to earn a discretionary annual bonus. This is an exempt role.
The salary range is determined and based on internal equity, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills, prior relevant experience, and education.
