Position Overview:
The Vice President, Sales will be responsible for achieving annual volume and transaction profitability targets, developing new client relationships, and expanding market coverage to promote the growth of the business. This individual will also be responsible for originating and closing equipment leases and loans with corporate clients in diversified industry sectors. Transactions will be sourced through direct solicitation on targeted clients and a network of referral sources.

The incumbent accepts the responsibility for establishing and maintaining the internal control system associated with the essential duties and responsibilities of the functional areas that the incumbent manages.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly source financing opportunities through calls and meetings with targeted clients and referral sources.
- Collaborate with members of the Credit, Pricing, Asset Management, Operations, and Legal teams as necessary to review and evaluate new opportunities based on division parameters and strategic fit.
- Prepare and negotiate transaction term sheets with clients.
- Gather all information required for underwriting and collaborate with the Credit, Operations and Legal teams to complete the underwriting and documentation processes.
- Enter all prospects and transaction opportunities into Salesforce.
- Attend targeted industry events and conferences to network and create brand awareness for the business.
- Ensure compliance with Legal & Financial requirements.
- Maintain high ethical standards in the workplace.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators):
- Direct customer engagement: number of sales calls, client meetings, proposals issued, transactions awarded, closed transactions.
- New business generation with $30MM target.
- Strategic prospecting skills and business plan.
- Achieve return on asset targets (determined by management) for all transactions.
Responsibility and Decision-Making Authority:

Qualifications:
- Strong origination skills with a proven ability and process to effectively prospect for new clients and sell the value proposition of Mitsubishi Capital, the nation’s fifth largest commercial finance company.
- Strategic thinker who can effectively evaluate and prioritize opportunities in targeted industry sectors.
- Ability to develop solutions for clients and collaborate with a cross-functional team to convert them to funded transactions.
- Broad product experience with equipment leases and loans, asset backed financing and project finance.
- Knowledge of transaction structuring techniques and corporate credit analysis.
- Transaction experience and a referral network in targeted industry sectors.
- Strong presentation skills, including the ability to professionally prepare internal and external presentations.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.
- 10 years transaction origination experience in a financial institution with a proven track record of exceeding origination and profitability targets.
- Completion of credit training preferred.
- Participation in industry specific trade associations preferred.
Licensing and Certification:
- CLFP preferred but not required.
Tools and Equipment Used:
- Personal computer, copier, phone, and other typical office equipment.
- Software includes Windows operating systems, MS Office applications.
Working Hours:
- Hours may vary and will require some evening work depending on business needs.
Travel:
- Regular travel required to visit prospects, clients and attend industry conferences; 15-25%.
Physical Demands:
- Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment.
- Light lifting and carrying of supplies, files, etc.
- Ability to speak to and hear customers and/or other employees via phone or in person.
- Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move from one office location to another.

The salary will be between x and x with an opportunity to participate in Mitsubishi HC Capital America, Inc. Structured Finance & Leasing Division Sales Commission Plan. This is an exempt role.
The salary range is determined and based on internal equity, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills, prior relevant experience, and education.
