What are the responsibilities and job description for the Global Mobility Administrator position at Mitsui Chemicals America, Inc.?
This Global Mobility Administrator is responsible for supporting supervisor with day-to-day global employee administration and provides support to MCA’s expatriate & trainee from Japan Headquarters (MCI) and other foreign entities. The position also provides backup support for MCA’s Administration functions by following manager’s instruction, MCA strategy and policies in order to achieve Company objectives. The Global Mobility Administrator can either be hybrid and report as needed to the White Plains, NY headquarters office as necessary, or remote. Salary range commensurate on experience, location, and market.
Essential Job Functions
Prepare the MTP Budget under direct manager’s direction:
-by understanding the MTP and Budget policies and strategies
-by gathering information and analyzing performance and achievement of previous terms and make suggestions
Implements the MTP and Budget:
- by adhering to the MTP and Budget.

Performs Arrival Process:
- by fully understanding MCI/A policy, Employee Handbook (applicable states) and company benefit structure.
- by fully understanding Expats administration and support process.
- by ensuring Pre-Arrival and Post-Arrival orientation process.
Performs Returning Procedure:
- by understanding Expats returning procedures.
- and by timely updating all related record
Performs Expatriated Payroll, Income Tax and Tax Equalization:
- by fully understanding MCI’s global assignment policy and expatriate benefit package.
- by closely communicating with CPA firm for payroll and tax administration.
- and by maintaining payroll and tax records.
Performs Expatriated Benefit Administration:
- by fully understanding MCA’s health and life insurance plans and costs.
- by accessing insurance carrier website and update necessary information.
- and by preparing rebill for non-MCA expatriate’s insurance and benefit costs
Assists Expatriated Employees and Trainees:
- by fully understanding MCI’s global assignment policy for benefit package, MCA expatriate manuals, expense reimbursement rules and intercompany agreements.
- by understanding MCA company policy and compensation benefits including health insurance
- by providing orientation (i.e. payroll, insurance, loan application, expense reimbursement, housing lease, etc.);
- by closely working with real estate agencies for temporary and permanent housing search and leasing agreement administration
- and by communicating with MCI and/or immigration lawyer for Visa related tasks
Serving as backup for MCA Administration functions
-by supporting supervisor in maintaining all aspects of day-to-day Administration operation.
Essential Job Requirements:
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and/or government regulations in both English and Japanese. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in both English and Japanese. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of Managers, Staff, clients, customers, and the general public in both English and Japanese.
Other Skills
Must be able to use a computer and such applications as Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel. Excellent communication and writing skills a MUST. Keen attention to detail preferred.
Experience and Education
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and over four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Salary : $55,000 - $65,000
