Mittera is looking for a Director of Quality and Compliance to join our growing team! The Quality Compliance Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive quality management systems that ensure our products consistently meet and exceed the highest industry standards. This role is critical in maintaining our reputation for excellence in our printing and collectible card production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a robust quality management system (QMS) tailored to specialty printing processes and business operational excellence.
- Create and maintain detailed quality control protocols for all printing, mailing, fulfillment and collectible card production
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for product quality
- Conduct regular quality audits across all production departments
- Manage and continuously improve quality control documentation and processes
- Ensure compliance with industry standards including ISO 9001 and other relevant quality certifications
- Develop comprehensive quality inspection procedures for various printing and collectable card production techniques
- Implement advanced quality testing methodologies for color accuracy, material integrity, and print precision. Incoming and outgoing material inspections. Provide AQL reporting to customers prior to shipping the product.
- Oversee color management and register consistency across different print runs, processes and product lines
- Lead a team of quality control specialists and technicians
- Provide ongoing training and professional development for quality assurance staff
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality-driven performance
- Collaborate with production, design, and sales teams to align quality standards with customer expectations
- Investigate and resolve quality-related issues and customer complaints
- Develop and implement corrective and preventive action (CAPA) protocols
- Analyze quality data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement
- Recommend and implement technological and procedural innovations to enhance product quality
- Provide detailed feedback on continuous improvement in relevance to cost of quality, on time delivery and customer satisfaction

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 7–10 years in quality management, specifically within the printing, packaging, or collectible card manufacturing industries. Proven expertise in print production, collectible card manufacturing, and engineering with a strong focus on meeting customer quality specifications.
- Demonstrated track record in developing, implementing, and maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS). Deep knowledge of quality control methodologies and best practices across various printing and manufacturing processes.
- Expert understanding of printing technologies, including offset, digital, and specialized printing techniques. In-depth proficiency in color management systems, color spectrophotometry, and the use of precision measurement tools in quality labs.
- Experienced in managing certification and audit processes to meet industry standards. Proficient in quality management software and data analysis tools, with a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory and auditability requirements for business operations.
- ASQ Certified Quality Manager preferred. ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification highly desirable. Additional certifications in color management are a plus.
- Exceptional ability to maintain precision and accuracy in all stages of production, ensuring the highest quality standards are consistently met.
- Strong analytical thinking and advanced problem-solving capabilities to identify issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to driving continuous improvements in quality processes, with a focus on innovation and efficiency.
- Strong strategic thinker with an ability to innovate and adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs.
- Solid knowledge of workplace safety regulations and procedures to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Experienced with production tracking systems and software to monitor performance, optimize processes, and ensure efficient operations.
