The Director, Corporate Controller supports the Vice President of Finance and Accounting in overseeing the company's daily financial activities and preparing financial statements of operations. This includes interim and final financial statements with accompanying schedules for management's guidance. The Director manages all accounting functions for US legal entities across Mizkan.
Reporting to the Director, Corporate Controller are the Accounts Payable Manager, Accounts Receivable Manager, and Corporate General Ledger Manager.

The Director Corporate Controller will be instrumental in preparing the monthly close and reporting packages.

Compensation is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Short-Term Incentive and other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversees all accounting functions including but not limited to corporate and division accounting; accounts payable; credit, collections, and deductions; customer accounting; and internal/external financial statement reporting.
- Reviews, evaluates and implements accounting systems, policies, and procedures working through their team.
- Ensures all financial reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
- Administers and presents monthly financial statements and related reports including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis.
- Supervises monthly balancing of books and monthly account reviews.
- Coordinates annual independent audit and preparation of annual tax documents.
- Ensures compliance with statutory payroll and property tax reporting.
- Monitors receivables to ensure credit risk is mitigated.
- Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops accounting managers. Evaluates performance and recognizes individual achievement. Encourages growth and development. Takes corrective action as needed.
- Assists with company strategic planning related to accounting.
- Oversees balance sheet general ledger account reconciliations for all operations (e.g., detailed Account Recs on established frequency).
- Benchmarks key performance metrics (e.g., Financial Statement Analysis) and hold the team accountable to those metrics.
- Enhance performance improvement ideas with clear roles and responsibilities (e.g., Role Matrix).
- Oversees ad-hoc analyses, ensuring methodological rigor and validating conclusions.
- Controls the quality of information extraction, analysis consistency, and resulting communication.
- Recommend process improvement to improve and promote quality of function, and accuracy and thoroughness in results.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required. MBA and/or CPA desirable. Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
- Experience in Food & Beverage Manufacturing, and/or consumer products industry is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of financial forecasting and financial reports.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics D365 and Power BI desirable.
- Strong mastery of USGAAP; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
