What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Planning & Analysis Lead – Banking position at Mizuho?
Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for providing senior management with analysis and insight into Mizuho America's financial results. With responsibility for the region’s management reporting, FPA works closely with a variety of corporate and business functions to provide insights and inform decision making for the firm’s executive leadership.
Within FPA, the Banking team is responsible for the largest business segment of Mizuho Americas: in this role you will work closely with the COO function of the Banking business and corporate functions of the firm to understand the commercial dynamics of the business and how this informs overall regional strategy: therefore familiarity with investment and/or corporate banking businesses is key. You have experience working effectively across teams to collaborate with peers on inter-disciplinary projects is a key component of the role.
FP&A Scope: Budgeting, Forecasts, Actuals reporting across Revenues, Cost and Balance Sheet/Capital providing primary interface with Front Office and Senior Management with information to enhance decision making and improve bottom line performance and returns.

Requirements
- 10 years of FP&A experience preferably in Financial Services
- Strong business writing, presentation, and financial data skills are essential.
- Executive presence to manage/focus senior front office clients to maximize business profitability and returns.
- Experience managing matrixed budget across product, client and entity preferred
- Working knowledge of IB products and operating model, risk/balance sheet consumption, transfer pricing and expenses drivers including infrastructure allocations
- Experience directly managing staff and working with other areas of Finance to deliver results and problem-solving outcomes
- Deep Microsoft application suite [PPT, Excel] and ledger analytics tools [SAP, Hyperion, etc] preferred.
