Profitable, successful manufacturer is adding an Engineering Technician to their team in their specialized manufacturing environment. As the Engineering Technician, you will report to a Production Manager with almost seven years of experience with the company. You will be responsible for the following daily tasks :
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to develop and improve solutions for manufacturing
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve production floor issues to minimize downtime
- Assist in root cause analysis of quality issues and provide feedback to implement corrective and preventive actions
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and improve product quality
- Provide technical support to machinists, including tooling, fixturing and machine issues
- Monitor the floor and ensure that production is running smoothly
- Update and review blueprints, ensuring they accurately reflect current production requirements and standards
- Maintain thorough documentation of issues and process changes
- Although rare, backup Operators when needed to run equipment
- Other duties as directed by the Production Manager
This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the production floor up to 80% of their day and willing to fill in, as needed , on the shop floor . The primary goal of this position will be to work closely with operations to improve quality standards, continuous improvement and support production. Candidates should enjoy mentoring and coaching others, problem-solving, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, enjoy building rapport on the floor and working within a team of manufacturing professionals.
