Non-automotive, stable manufacturer is hiring a Purchasing Manager! The Purchasing Manager will report to the President, who has been with the company for almost 20 years, and will oversee a small team in procurement. Daily activities will include:
- Coaching, motivating and developing the procurement team
- Evaluating, improving, implementing and documenting procurement functions for the site
- Handling daily purchasing functions, including managing contracts, creating purchase orders, monitoring the budget, etc.
- Overseeing contract management
- Supporting the procurement team with sourcing and negotiating, including being hands on in the procurement process
- Procuring a portfolio of commodities, including managing an annual spend of 20M
- Monitoring and improving departmental KPIs and metrics
- Evaluating, qualifying and selecting suppliers
- Finding and implementing continuous improvement efforts within the department and manufacturing
- Supporting audits as needed
- Attending and leading meetings
- Acting as an ERP expert, including data analysis and planning
- Ensuring compliance
- Monitoring and tracking market trends and conditions
- Providing a collaborative partnership with site operations and engineering
- Other duties as directed by management

Requirements for the Purchasing Manager:
1. Bachelor's degree, ideally in a related field
2. At least 3-5 years of solid manufacturing procurement experience
3. Experience sourcing new vendors
4. Experience negotiating cost and delivery
5. Working knowledge of ERP systems
6. Microsoft Office
Skills that are preferred, BUT NOT required:
1. Supervision of others
2. International sourcing experience
3. Crystal Reports or another reporting software system
4. Formal Lean and/or Six Sigma training
5. Certifications
