- Manages the daily operations of a team of editors, both full time and freelance, who review and edit a variety of digital and print tactics including websites, videos, emails, decks, social posts, conference booths, master visual aids, leave behinds, and other promotional projects for both HCP and patient audiences
- Trains and provides guidance to staff and manages editors in day-to-day performance of their jobs
- Ensures all content meets required and accepted format and standards
- Maintains style guides for each client and keeps them up to date as needed
- Ensures that department and project goals are met, adhering to approved budgets
- In addition to managing the department, also handles copy editing and proofreading digital and print projects to ensure grammatical accuracy and maintain style and tone inherent to each brand and / or assignment
- Fact checks documents of every type and description
- Identifies inconsistencies and offers suggestions to revise awkward or unclear language
- Checks and applies proofing and design changes to documents and reviews updated assets to ensure that edits have been implemented, and no new errors have been introduced
- Ensures all corporate, product branding, and medical-legal-regulatory compliance guidelines are explicitly followed
- Partners with and supports Copy Department to search for clinical studies relevant to assignments
- Provides regular, relevant updates on competitive brand information
- Maintains strict adherence to deadlines
- Displays tact, diplomacy, and the ability to protect confidential information
- Has availability to work remotely
- Able to flex daily schedule as needed to accommodate department and client needs
- Has 3-5 years of experience managing the editorial department at a pharmaceutical ad agency
