Medical Director PER

Job Title : Medical Director

Summary

The Medical Director at Physicians' Education Resource (PER®) works with members of cross-functional teams to develop the content for CME / CE-certified educational initiatives.

Responsibilities

The function of the medical director includes but is not limited to implementation of the following tasks :

Develop and maintain knowledge in assigned therapeutic areas
Develop text-based and multimedia-based live and online CME / CE certified activities
Ensure that all ACCME and related regulatory guidelines are implemented where required
Travel to and participate in the onsite execution of selected educational activities, when needed
Perform other duties, tasks, and / or functions as assigned
Comply with Company SOPs

Qualifications

An advanced degree (eg, MD, DO, PhD, RN, PharmD) and clinical experience preferred; other graduate degrees (MPH, MS) or bachelor's degrees, with relevant experience, will be considered

At least 3 years' experience in medical education content development, including at least 2 years' experience in CME / CE

Excellent writing and editing skills in the area of medical education / publishing, including the ability to interpret complex information and data and present them in a cohesive manner

Very good therapeutic knowledge in assigned medical topics (eg, important clinical issues, clinical practice guidelines, current and emerging therapeutic options, important clinical trials, top thought leaders, etc) and ability to quickly get up to speed on new therapeutic topics

Good knowledge of ACCME and other relevant, regulatory standards governing the development of CME / CE activities

Good familiarity with AMA style

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to ensure work is completed on time, at the highest level of quality, and within prescribed parameters

Excellent communication skills (written & verbal in English)

Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (eg, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Experience with Workfront and / or other web-based project management tools preferred

Self-motivated, team player, highly organized and detail oriented, with impeccable time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize / reprioritize, thrives in a highly deadline-driven environment

Deadline driven, results-oriented, accurate, and analytical

Highly organized

Ability to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities

Physical requirements and work environment

Travel (approximately 15%-20%) for project-related work and office-based meetings
