Social Media Strategy & Execution Focused
- Develop and implement data-driven social media strategies for patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals (HCPs), and industry stakeholders.
- Manage content calendars and oversee the execution of organic and paid campaigns across platforms (LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Threads, and emerging channels).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (regulatory, medical affairs, legal, creative) to ensure compliant messaging.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, optimizing campaigns for engagement, reach, and conversions.
- Stay informed on FDA social media guidelines and ensure all content aligns with MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) requirements.
- Write and edit social media posts, ad copy, blog articles, video scripts, infographics, and interactive content tailored for healthcare/pharmaceutical audiences.
- Adapt complex medical/scientific information into clear, compelling, and patient-friendly language.
- Develop social media toolkits for HCPs, advocacy groups, and internal stakeholders.
- Craft engaging narratives and patient stories while adhering to industry regulations.
- Collaborate with designers and video teams to create multimedia content that enhances engagement.
- Monitor, moderate, and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in alignment with compliance guidelines.
- Identify opportunities for real-time engagement while mitigating risk.
- Partner with advocacy groups, KOLs, and patient influencers to foster authentic conversations.
- Track KPIs (reach, engagement, sentiment, conversions) and generate performance reports with insights.
- A/B test content formats and posting times to refine strategy.
- Stay ahead of emerging social media trends and recommend innovative approaches.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3 years of experience in social media marketing, digital content strategy, or copywriting within healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotech, or medical communications.
- Strong understanding of FDA, HIPAA, and PhRMA guidelines for social media.
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to simplify complex medical concepts.
- Proficiency in social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Meltwater).
- Experience with paid social media campaigns (LinkedIn Ads, Meta Ads, X Ads).
- Familiarity with SEO, analytics tools (Google Analytics, social listening platforms), and CRM integration.
- Bachelor's degree required
- At least 3 to 5 years of prior social media and influencer strategy, preferably at an agency and in the Pharma space
- Experience interacting with and growing a wide range of audiences with highly targeted, on-brand content, tone and brand traits.
- Overall knowledge of influencer engagement experience
- Ability to continually optimize campaigns to exceed KPIs, such as lead generation, engagement, lead score, conversion rates, awareness, share of voice, sentiment
- Proven success managing a wide range of campaigns and workflows simultaneously, efficiently and on deadline
- Working knowledge of personas, audience segmentation and social listening / social intelligence
- Influencer mapping, engagement and activation across all channels
- Knowledge of regulatory considerations in digital (e.g. GDPR) and specific to pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, patient privacy, adverse event reporting
- Proficiency in social media monitoring and management platforms
- Staying informed and ahead of social media marketing trends and emerging technologies to create strategic, data-driven recommendations
- Highest level analytical skills, using data to inform media strategies & optimizations
- Organized self-starter with ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines
