Inventory Department Head
Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the Inventory Department Head is to manage and control all elements of the store’s inventory. It is the Department Head’s duty to make sure that every piece of merchandise on the sales floor is properly identified with the correct bin tag and/or stickers. And, each piece of merchandise is accurately counted and properly accounted for.
Major Responsibilities:
- Manages the overall inventory process ensuring accuracy and assisting Management with discrepancies.
- Investigates and audits discrepancies between counts in the computer and actual counts on hand. This includes receiving and sales. Physically locating missing items.
- Has Manager sign off on discrepancies before count totals are updated to inventory at $50 or more.
- Performs cycle counts on a continual basis 12 month of the year.
- Provides the Sales Associates with leadership and guidance as they assist with cycle counting.
- Provides Sales Associates with RSO’s twice a week
- Assist Store Manager with the Ace ordering process, creating purchase order and transmit to Ace and verify transmittal.
- Work with Management on reviewing and updating price changes.
- Responsible to assist Department Heads and Assistant Managers managing the inventory “dot” system for non-re-orders, back stock and multiply locations.
- Implement and maintain location codes
- Oversees the introduction of new items to the store making sure to relocate from new to the products final location in the system.
- Creates SKU’s for new products as needed.
- Manages bin labels for all inventory, printing as needed.
- Assists in creating purchase orders.
- Monitor shrinkage and recommend ways to reduce theft and breakage in the store.
- Manages signage on product and creates new signs when needed.
- Ensure adequate inventory levels to minimize outages.
- Trains store staff on inventory management best practices.
- Assists Department Heads and Assistant Store Managers with special orders when needed.
- Communicates to Management when obsolete inventory has been determined. Assists with its removal.
- Builds and maintains sales and promotions
- Manage the shoot-outs process weekly, including location updates, quantity on hand and research any variances. Update system and run RPI reports.
- Active in the transfer of seasonal inventory to storage and back to stock. Communicating with Management through the process and overseeing the accuracy of the counts and locations.
- Manage Ace online instore pick up orders.
- Review ITR reports with Management
- Answers phones as needed in a friendly, professional manner.
- Assist Cashier as needed meeting the Ace Helpful standards

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $39,500.00 - $52,000.00 per year
