Electrician / Installer-JAX

Jacksonville-based, employee-owned company is seeking an Experienced Electrician/Installer. Applicants must be able to pass a military/government background check and possess a valid driver’s License. Industrial experience is required. Must be willing to travel (Approximately 10%). Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret electrical blue prints, schematics, and drawings of fire alarm and/or other related electrical systems for the purpose of determining the efficient installation of new or upgraded systems.
  • Coordinate with assigned Project Manager, General Contactor Superintendent or Foreman to complete projects and work orders efficiently.
  • Diagnose cause of fire alarm related problems or failures with multiple manufactured systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair.
  • Communicates with Project Manager, General Contactor Superintendent or Foreman personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with appropriate codes & regulations.
  • Hand and Hydraulic conduit bending and installation, including Rigid, PVC coated Rigid and Stainless Steel
  • Knowledge of 2020 NEC Code book. 
  • Experience operating scissor lifts, boom lifts, telescopic forklift, etc... 
  • Motor Controls knowledge.
  • Broad troubleshooting experience in an industrial environment
  • Basic structured cable experience
  • Able to use test equipment such as a megger, earth ground tester, thermography camera, OTDR, etc... a plus.
  • Maintain assigned vehicle, tools, supplies and test equipment to ensure availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair.
  • Respond to emergency situations during and after hours.

Qualifications  Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills                                                      
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills                                                             
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.   

Reasoning Ability                                                                 
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations  
  • OSHA 10 or 30
  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies  
  • ESA/NTS Certified Alarm Technician Level 1 or higher

Other Qualifications
  • Must have a current driver’s license and a driving record that meets company minimum requirements.
  • Must be able to travel. 
  • Must pass background check.   
  • Experience using Procore a plus.
  • Minor experience with Fire Alarm a plus.
  • Minor experience with Fiber Optic cable and terminations a plus.
  •                         

Physical Demands & Work Environment

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment includes exposure to weather and client processes

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
