MK Search is currently working west coast based Chemical Distributor who is seeking a Sr Operations Manager.
This position will be responsible for leading and optimizing operational functions within a growing chemical distribution company. This role ensures excellence in warehousing, logistics, supply chain, compliance, and safety. Reporting to the COO, the Operations Manager manages a team to drive efficiency, improve productivity, and uphold regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations, including warehousing, transportation, and supply chain management.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and develop a team of 4 direct reports and 20 employees.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and industry safety standards.
- Drive process improvements, cost reduction, and operational workflow enhancements.
- Manage inventory, ensuring accuracy and safety in chemical handling.
- Collaborate with sales, procurement, and finance to align operations with business goals.
- Oversee vendor relationships and negotiate service contracts.
- Monitor budgets, KPIs, and financial performance metrics.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5-10 years in operations management, preferably in either chemical distribution or manufacturing
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of chemical handling regulations and compliance.
- Experience with ERP and supply chain management systems.
- Financial acumen, including budgeting and cost management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities.
Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
