Our client is looking for a Senior Cost Accountant with strong analytical skills and expertise in manufacturing to support their Finance team. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review month-end journal entries, conduct inventory reconciliations in Blackline, analyze variances, and complete manufacturing controls.
- Product Costing: Oversee cost roll execution, conduct detailed cost analyses, and evaluate rates across multiple sites for accurate product costing.
- Inventory Management: Assess and support optimal inventory levels, lead physical inventory counts, and analyze inventory turnover by product.
- Reporting & Analytics: Explain manufacturing variances, standardize metrics, and monitor variable costs relative to volume trends.
- Finance Support: Develop KPIs, collaborate with supply chain on cost tracking, analyze freight costs, and support capex forecasting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 5- years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing, ideally within product or chemicals sectors.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and inventory/costing systems, specifically JD Edwards ERP.
- Proficiency with large data sets, advanced Excel, and BI tools.
- Experience with Power BI, financial modeling, and dashboard creation is a plus.
