MK Services in Middleton, MA wants to add a Shipping Clerk to our growing team!
The Shipping Clerk manages incoming and outgoing shipments of products, materials, and supplies in a CNC manufacturing environment. This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of all shipments and maintains inventory records.
Key Responsibilities
Receive Incoming Shipments :
Verify and inspect received items for accuracy and damages.
Match shipping documents to product orders.
Label and store received items in designated storage areas.
Prepare Outgoing Shipments :
Pack and label materials according to shipping instructions.
Prepare shipping documents (e.g., bills of lading, and airway bills).
Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers for timely delivery.
Inventory Management :
Track inventory levels and maintain accurate records.
Organize and catalog items in the stockroom.
Conduct regular inventory audits.
Equipment Operation :
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other shipping and receiving equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain equipment in good working condition.
Documentation and Reporting :
Prepare regular shipping and receiving reports for management.
Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.
Ensure adherence to environmental management and systems.
Customer and Vendor Interaction :
Resolve shipment and delivery issues with customers and suppliers.
Communicate effectively with internal departments to ensure smooth operations.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Education :
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience :
Previous experience in a shipping and receiving role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management.
Skills :
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience with shipping software and basic computer skills.
Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
