The Group Manager position oversees a team of NICET certified technicians. The team provides start-up and commissioning support, electrical testing, and engineering services to large data center customers and others in the greater Washington, D.C. area.
What you will do…
- Manage the services team and track performance.
- Develop scope, budget, and manpower needs for projects.
- Write estimates, proposals, and project documentation.
- Conduct site visits and attend customer meetings.
- Identify and negotiate changes in scope.
- Own projects from conception to closure.
- Review customer RFPs, engineering drawings, and technical content.
- Reading and interpreting electrical specifications and drawings.
- Conduct staff meetings and develop new processes and procedures for strategic direction.
- Schedule trainings for team members to ensure growth and close gaps in abilities.
- Develop and maintain a knowledge base library of reference materials for use in preparing proposals, presentations, and technical collateral.
- Observe all safety rules and Best Practices; Follow all company policies and procedures.
- All work and decisions shall be conducted in strict compliance of all company and regulatory laws.
- Development of department budgets: revenue and CapEx.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients.
- Identify slips in projects and adjust to get them back on track.
- Identify the needs for hiring and termination of team members as needed.
Minimum Qualifications…
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management and electrical testing fields.
- Ability to read and understand complex blueprints, schematics, parts lists, and additional technical materials for troubleshooting circuit breakers and electrical power equipment.
- Comprehensive knowledge on NETA ATS/MTS, NFPA 70E/B.
- Field Service experience.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications…
- NICET/NETA level 3 or 4 certification.
- Knowledge of testing equipment for electrical assets.
- Infrared Thermography certification.
- Salesforce, Proposify, and Spectrum experience.
