Duties & Responsibilities
At MKD, we prioritize creating a team culture centered on world-class customer service. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the hub of communication between contractors, retail partners, managers, and direct customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Answering the phone is priority #1, with a high call volume (approximately 300 calls/day).
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Maintain positive working relationships with customers, designers, expediters, contractors, and internal teams.
Problem Solving & Coordination:
- Serve as a problem solver and customer hero, addressing daily challenges in construction and remodeling projects.
- Coordinate scheduling, routing, material availability, and issue resolution (e.g., breakage, remakes).
- Monitor project timelines and ensure accurate and timely communication with all stakeholders.
Administrative Tasks:
- Manage a high volume of phone calls and emails, ensuring thorough and professional responses.
- Maintain accurate records in company systems, including CRM and project management tools.
- Learn and use multiple computer programs effectively to manage tasks and maintain efficiency.
- Team Collaboration:
- Be a flexible team player, ready to step in and assist wherever needed.
- Support the overall team with tasks assigned by the manager to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications - Required Skills:
- Strong phone communication and customer service skills, with a focus on problem resolution and maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Exceptional multitasking abilities and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written communication and business email proficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Outlook.
- Great attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple computer programs with proficient typing skills.
- Self-directed with minimal supervision required.
- Construction background or experience is essential.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with scheduling, material coordination, and resolving construction-related issues.
- Experience working in customer service for kitchen and bath remodeling, distribution, or a similar industry.
