Title: Sustaining Engineering Manager
Location: Tampa, FL

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Sustaining Engineering Manager to oversee all sustaining engineering functions for a range of high-quality electronic products, focusing on maintaining production quality and ensuring adherence to UL certification standards. This role requires a hands-on approach to engineering, including testing, troubleshooting, and supporting manufacturing to sustain production efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight: Manage production activities for all existing product lines, including
evaluating production test data to authorize shipments, adjusting test parameters as necessary, and resolving any technical issues in collaboration with manufacturing partners.
- Engineering Documentation: Develop and manage a robust system to organize, track, and communicate ongoing engineering activities, ensuring transparency and alignment across
teams.
- UL Certification Management: Lead and manage UL certification processes for new and ongoing projects, addressing production issues, and collaborating with factories to complete UL compliance projects.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate weekly reports detailing production challenges, RMA status, and other relevant data, providing insights for continuous improvement.
- NPI Support: Partner with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team to ensure seamless transitions of projects from development to production, offering strategic input and performing hands-on lab testing for prototype and pilot units.
- Customer Support: Offer technical guidance to customer service teams for RMA issues and provide cross-training on RMA and AQL processes.
- Compliance and Documentation: Maintain certification documents for environmental compliance (e.g., REACH and RoHS), securing factory compliance documents as necessary.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for process improvement, cost savings, and supplier evaluations to support the company’s growth.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Hands-on Engineering Expertise: Significant experience in the design, testing, and manufacturing of complex electronic products, with a focus on power supplies and lighting
systems.
- UL Certification Process Knowledge: Proven experience in managing projects with UL, including pricing negotiations and compliance troubleshooting.
Education:
- Must have a BSEE or BSEET degree
- Must have hands-on electrical/electronics bench experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
