Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work under licensed Structural Engineers with growth potential available.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and design structural systems for buildings, bridges, and other structures using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Analyze blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine the requirements for structural design, including the size and strength of materials, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Conduct structural calculations to determine the loads, stresses, and forces that will be placed on the structure, and design solutions that will ensure the safety and stability of the building.
- Create detailed construction documents, including drawings and specifications, that provide contractors with the information they need to construct the structure.
- Work with other design team members, including architects and mechanical engineers, to ensure that the structural design is integrated with other building systems.
- Evaluate existing structures to determine if they are safe for continued use and develop plans to repair or retrofit structures as necessary.
- Attend site visits and meetings with clients and contractors to discuss design plans and construction progress.
- Use specialized software to simulate the behavior of structures under different conditions and make design modifications as necessary.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project timelines and budgets and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years' experience in structural design, preferably with a focus on residential and commercial low-rise buildings.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and computer skills.
- Experience with engineering programs such as ETABS and ADAPT, as well as AutoCAD.
