As a Chemist I at MKS | Atotech, you will partner with Manufacturing and Operations, Sales and Service, Customers, and Various Other Departments to test/analyze samples and calibrate/troubleshoot lab equipment. In this role, you will report to the Quality Control/Customer Analytics Lab Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
As a Chemist I at MKS | Atotech, you will partner with Manufacturing and Operations, Sales and Service, Customers, and Various Other Departments to test/analyze samples and calibrate/troubleshoot lab equipment. In this role, you will report to the Quality Control/Customer Analytics Lab Manager.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Perform various laboratory tasks such as preparing chemical solutions, conducting experiments, and operating laboratory equipment safely and efficiently
- Collect, analyze, and troubleshoot experimental data using various techniques and instrumentation. This may involve using software programs to process and interpret results accurately
- Maintain detailed records of experiments, procedures, and results in laboratory notebooks or electronic databases. Ensuring that all documentation meets regulatory and quality standards
- Assist in quality control procedures to ensure that products meet specifications and regulatory requirements. This may involve conducting tests on raw materials, intermediates, finished products and recommending action to adjust out of specification products
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Following standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory requirements related to chemical handling, storage, and disposal
- Travel Requirements: Up to 0-10% of Travel is required.
Skills You Bring:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 0-1 year of related experience
- General knowledge of lab tools such as pipettes, burettes, balances and other various labware
- Working knowledge of analytical instrumentation such as GC, IC, HPLC, UV/VIS, AAS, ICP
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office apps
Preferred Skills:
- Prior experience with troubleshooting analytical instruments
- Experience with SAP and related software
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Perform activities such as sitting, standing, for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Constantly interacts with specialized equipment and machinery for chemical operations
- Attention to safety protocols is paramount to mitigate risks associated with chemical operation
- Noise levels in the work environment are typically moderate
- Occasional exposure to chemicals and fumes may occur; adherence to safety guidelines is mandatory
