Michael Kinder & Sons, a fourth-generation family-owned Design-Build Construction Firm, is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Project Manager with 1-2 years of experience in the construction industry. This role supports project management from concept to completion, ensuring exceptional customer service and accurate job management. The Assistant Project Manager will work closely with Project Management and Field Supervision teams to establish priorities, maintain quality standards, and effectively manage customer expectations. Strong organizational, writing, and computer skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management
- Assist and support design and construction projects ranging from conceptual design to project closeout
- Perform a key role in project planning, budgeting, and identification of resources needed
- Assist in building and maintaining overall project schedule working with Project Manager and Superintendents
- Assist in devising the project work plans and make revisions as and when need arises
- Monitor the progress of the construction activities on a regular basis and assist with regular status meetings with all the sub-teams & clients
- Perform project closeout
Planning and Coordination
- Support the subcontractor bid process and Preconstruction and Estimating Team
- Initiate subcontractor and material purchasing
- Assist with jobs in progress, including subcontractor coordination and conflict resolution
Financial Oversight
- Assist Project accounting functions, including managing the budget, tracking team expenses, and minimizing exposure and risk in the project
- Assist in managing project costs through the ongoing evaluation of labor, material, and equipment
Client and Stakeholder Communication
- Communicate effectively with the contractors/vendors responsible for completing various phases of the project
- Ensure customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client needs
Safety, Compliance, and Documentation
- Maintain strict adherence to budgetary guidelines, quality, and safety standards
- Meeting agendas and minutes, submittals, RFIs, and changes while ensuring quality and safety on every job

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Education | Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related degree
- Minimum Work Experience | 1 – 2 years’ experience in construction or project management
- Ability to implement and follow company policies, procedures and standards is essential
- Excellent communication, organizational and planning skills required
- Communicate effectively, both written and verbal
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Experience with Adobe, Bluebeam, Procore & Timberline
