What are the responsibilities and job description for the Computer Programmer/Software Engineer position at MKS2 Technologies?
MKS2 is looking for a Computer Programmer/Software Engineer LE for the Cyber Battle Lab (CBL) program. The mission of the CBL is to provide overall direction, oversight, vertical and horizontal integration of CO, DODIN-A, and EW activities focused on the development of a Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) Force (2028 – 2035) for the Army as defined by the Army Modernization Strategy (AMS), guided by the Annual Mission Guidance (AMG), and sanctioned by the AFC.
The role is contingent upon award and will be located at Fort Gordon, Georgia.
Responsibilities:
- Write code to create new software and/or add capabilities to existing software.
- Troubleshoot existing software and write code to correct problems.
- Participate in working group discussions to distill operational requirements into software requirements.
- Create new and novel software code from software requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Either hold or become CompTia Security certified within the first six (6) months.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or computer science discipline and possess a strong aptitude for mathematics.
- Shall qualify to handle controlled cryptographic items (CCI), to include courier orders.
- Computer Programmers providing Systems Administration support in LE on day one must have baseline certification in GSEC or Security CE or CSA or GICSP or SSCP or CCNA Security (preferred) or IAT Level III Certification.
- Must have passed Microsoft Exam 70-410 “Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012”. Within six months must obtain the following 1. Windows = 1 of 2: [pass MS Exam 70‐411 "Administering Windows Server 2012"; or Windows training approved by the CBL IAM/COR] AND 2. VMWare = 1 of 4: [VMWare cert, "VCP6-DCV"; or Udemy training cert, "VMware ESXi and vSphere Admin Tutorial"; ITU training cert, "VMware vSphere VCP 5.5"; or VMWare training approved by CBL IAM/COR ].
- Hold an active Secret clearance.
Computer Skills:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).
Must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing. Most positions require ability to work on a desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time. Computer activities include reading, reviewing and analyzing information, as well as providing recommendations, summaries, and reports in written or verbal format. Additionally, positions require ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; as well as speak and hear.
Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
