About the Job
Process all trucks picking up packaged material, schedule packaged loads, safety train all new drivers and contractors, process badges for new drivers and contractors, track and maintain log of all badges, and miscellaneous work for the Shipping Manager.
Ensures that all drivers and contractors watch the safety video.
Complete MSHA training certificates and upload them into document locator.
Coordinate with the CPP and Vertical plants to make sure the schedule is optimized.
Take load number from drivers and process their loading request form. Look up load numbers in IFS to assist drivers with processing. Verify load information for the carrier and give the dispatcher a specific load time.
Stage drivers at the carrier parking lot until a loading dock is available for loading. Assist with traffic control during adverse conditions. Assist scale as needed during vacancies.
Program badges for drivers and contractors to allow them one time in and out access of the facility. Monitor badges to make sure they are returned upon departure. Follow-up with carriers regarding unreturned badges.
Run Late Shipment Report each day on Packaged Loads and follow up with Customer Service.
Employees are expected to perform other responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 1 Year or less. Must have experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Knowledge: General knowledge of plant layout and loading locations. General knowledge of products and loading locations.
Skills: Must be able to operate scanners, fax machine, phone, keyboard, and computers.
Abilities: Ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to read and follow instructions.
Behaviors: Must be a team player with strong listening, interpersonal, and communication skills.
