About the Job

The Director, Global IT will drive IT strategy development and execution, ensuring alignment with business goals. This role oversees all operations, infrastructure business applications and IT reporting team members across MLC’s global footprint including MLC US and MLC UK. Partnering with business leaders, and with access to the Leadership Team, this role will position IT as a strategic enabler of business transformation, process optimization and advanced analytics.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or engineering required.
15 years of IT management experience, 10 years working in manufacturing environment preferred
10 years in a project leadership / management capacity, including all aspects of process development, pragmatic timelines, and effective execution.
Extensive understanding of IT security frameworks and compliance
ERP systems experience including system implementations, integrations, and transitions
Experience with manufacturing control and data collection systems.
Experience developing and executing multi-year IT strategy roadmaps while driving day to day Project Management Office (PMO) capabilities across the IT organization
Background in data management, business intelligence and/or data science related technologies preferred
Experience influencing cross-functional teams without formal authority and maintaining strong working relationships.
Experience managing multi-discipline internal and external experts.
Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing others.
Ability to communicate with executive, functional and technical personnel through strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
Ability to gain buy-in across a diverse set of personnel and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while balancing workload for self and team.
Experience defining and implementing standard support processes and metrics to promote continuous improvement and objective performance reporting.
Experience leading a technical team, providing feedback, mentoring employees and defining development plans.
Experience selecting and managing external vendor contracts to ensure schedule & budget compliance on project efforts and service level delivery on support contracts.
Proven ability to drive digital transformation initiatives, including cloud adoption, cybersecurity advancements, and the integration of emerging technologies (AI, automation, IoT) to optimize business operations.

Essential Functions

Strategic IT Leadership & Alignment

Partner with business leaders and functional teams to understand business goals, highlight potential cross-division synergies, and advise on how IT can contribute to these goals.
Work with Leadership Team, Functional Leaders and the IT team to develop strategies, roadmaps, and plans that maximize technology investments and optimize the total cost of ownership, balancing innovation with operational efficiency.
Lead, or ensure implementation of, strong PMO competencies across the IT organization ensuring proper governance and involvement from business to allocate and prioritize capacity, provide progress updates, and ensure proper visibility to issues/risks proactively.
Work with business teams to ensure that IT Policies and Standards are understood, accepted and complied with.

Technology & Infrastructure Management

Lead strategic infrastructure technology planning, evaluations, projects and implement standards
Participate in due diligence and lead IT infrastructure integration activities associated with acquisitions
Develop justification for technology projects that require allocated funding and manage budget within areas of responsibility
Maintain inventory of all computer hardware and supplies that relates to the IT Department’s area of control

Team Leadership & Department Management

Develop and mentor IT staff to ensure that skills are updated and well matched to future business and IT needs; ensure clearly defined development plans in place across the IT organization.
Develop standard support processes and measure/manage performance standards to maximize customer service and satisfaction
Report regularly on information technology department activity, including quantity, quality, and timeliness of IT Department services, system performance response time, availability and reliability.
