About the Job
Under the direction of the Process Technician Team Lead, this individual manufactures product for use by customers by loading product for customer shipment and unloading incoming raw materials on the barge. Work overtime as needed and respond to call-ins to work when the plant requires.
Adheres to all company safety policies and procedures. Attend safety training meetings as scheduled. Adheres to all company and corporate policies.
Writes and adheres to all process procedures and work instructions and keeps all procedures and instructions updated.
Operates computer-controlled processes. Operate forklift, front-end loader, and material handler as required.
Maintains equipment through preventive maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting, and repair work. Ensures high standards of housekeeping in all plant areas. Assists maintenance in projects, equipment repair/troubleshooting, etc. as required. Initiates requests for maintenance.
Troubleshoot process problems and implement process improvements.
Monitors operation of Dust Control equipment.
Supervises outside contract labor as required.
Employees are expected to perform other responsibilities as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Experience: 1-2 years in an industrial environment required.
Knowledge: Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
Skills: Strong written and verbal communication.
Behaviors: Individual must be self-motivated and have initiative to work as an empowered team with on-site employees to operate a safe and efficient plant, maximize production and reduce costs. Must be willing to work rotating shifts, overtime, and holidays.
Abilities: Able to build and maintain relationships with off-site company personnel for support resources. Must be able to climb stairs & ladders without a fear of heights. Must be able to work around water without a fear of water.
Travel: Occasional required travel to other corporate locations for training and operational assistance.
