What are the responsibilities and job description for the Courier position at MLD Pathology?
This position is responsible for following local and state laws while operating a motor vehicle in the transport, pick-up, and delivery of human specimens for cancer testing, all while providing courteous customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Transportation
1. Pickup and transport specimens for laboratory processing.
2. Deliver and transport specimens for laboratory processing.
3. Deliver client reports, supplies, and daily mail and packages.
4. Coordinate with central dispatch to track waiting and completed orders.
5. Ensure package safety and observe transportation requirements.
Administration
6. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
7. Provide friendly customer service to every client.
8. Obtain signatures and payments or arrange for recipients to make payments.
9. Record information, such as items received and delivered and recipients' responses to messages.
10. Relay information between personnel.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain a safe and operative vehicle.
2. Maintain a clean vehicle exterior and interior.
3. Responsible to move equipment from one location to another, as needed.
4. Perform other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES
EDUCATION
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES
Class C driver’s license
EXPERIENCE
Up to 3 years related experience as a courier preferred.
