We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Blood Bank Supervisor / Clinical Laboratory Scientist to lead our blood bank department at a busy trauma hospital in Southern California. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transfusion medicine, a passion for patient care, and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities :

• Supervise and manage the daily operations of the blood bank department, including staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluation
• Oversee the maintenance of accurate and complete records for all blood bank activities, including inventory control, testing, and transfusion
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate processing of blood samples and transfusions
• Monitor quality control procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safe and effective use of blood products
• Participate in the selection, validation, and implementation of new blood bank technology and equipment
• Provide technical expertise and consultation to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals on transfusion-related issues
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and data analysis to improve patient outcomes and efficiency
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies, including AABB, FDA, and CAP
