Full-Time Teacher (Grades 6-12)

Role Summary:
We are seeking a full-time, in-person Teacher to work with 6th-12th grade at-risk youth at our Miami Gardens campus. The ideal candidate will have experience in Math & Science and be bilingual in Spanish to best support our diverse student population. While Math & Science experience is preferred, the role will involve providing general education across multiple subjects.
Additionally, this role will provide Exceptional Student Education (ESE) support, working closely with the ESE team to ensure accommodations, interventions, and compliance with individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans.
Teacher Responsibilities
Before Shift Begins
β Sign in to your time and attendance platform (recommend signing in 15 minutes before school starts)
β Review daily goals with support staff (tutors)
β Facilitate daily laptop distribution and inventory
β Log into Online Learning Platform using assigned company laptop
β Set up classroom (morning motivational, policies/procedure board, etc.)
During Shift
β Greet each student and ensure that all policies and procedures are strictly enforced at the front door
β Take daily attendance using the online attendance platform
β Facilitate daily motivational morning activity
β Address students for 15 minutes, reviewing the goals and objectives for the day
β Ensure support staff is walking around the classroom every 15 minutes
β Lead weekly vocational instruction
β Handle small behavioral issues (escalate to Dean if necessary, e.g., suspension)
β Complete daily student reporting document
β Complete daily attendance
β Provide ESE support by working with students who have accommodations, ensuring compliance with IEPs and 504 plans, and collaborating with the ESE team
After Shift Ends
β Dismiss students and ensure they disperse away from the school
β Ensure the classroom is organized and prepared for the next day before leaving
β Ensure all incident reports have been filed and the appropriate parties have been informed
β Facilitate laptop inventory of all returned computers
β Facilitate breaking down the classroom
Additional Duties
β Contact online students and ensure they are actively completing their tasks (Online Teacher Only)
β Facilitate student orientations (prepare welcome packet/PPT for students)
β Lead all annual parent/teacher conferences
β Attend all campus staff meetings
β Prepare report cards each quarter
β Facilitate food service (if applicable)
β Lead all supplemental evaluations (IReady, GPS for SUCCESS)
β Lead completion of Senior Checklist items
β Routinely check your emails to ensure any pending issues have been addressed
β Maintain Credit Breakdown (after SA does initial entries)
β Maintain Student APEX accounts
β Add and close Student APEX courses
