Role Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Teacher Aide to support students in understanding various subjects and assist teachers in classroom facilitation. The ideal candidate will help assess student needs, encourage learning, and provide direct assistance to students in a supportive environment.Teacher Aide Responsibilities
Before Shift Begins
- Sign-in to your time and attendance platform (recommend signing in 15 minutes before school starts).
- Review daily goals with the Lead Teacher.
- Assist in daily laptop distribution and inventory.
- Log into the Online Learning Platform using your assigned company laptop.
- Assist in setting up the classroom (morning motivational, policies/procedure board, etc.).
- Greet each student and ensure all policies and procedures are enforced.
- Help students to their seats and provide them with laptops.
- Work directly with students and circulate around the classroom every 15 minutes.
- Identify and report any behavioral problems to the teacher.
- Complete the daily student reporting document.
- Assist the teacher with daily attendance.
- Conduct daily communication with Student Advisors regarding “at-home” students.
- Ensure all verbal and written communications with students and parents are professional and respectful.
- Utilize available technology, including whiteboards, computers, and augmentative devices.
- Provide appropriate supervision during recreational periods, arrival and departure, and field trips.
- Assist in dismissing students and ensure they disperse away from the school.
- Assist in laptop inventory of all returned computers.
- Ensure the classroom is organized and prepared for the next day before leaving.
- Assist in breaking down the classroom.
Additional Duties
- Attend all campus staff meetings.
- Assist in preparing report cards each quarter.
- Assist in food service (if applicable).
- Assist with all supplemental evaluations (IReady, GPS for SUCCESS).
- Assist with Senior Checklist items.
- Routinely check your emails to address any pending issues.
- Maintain Student APEX accounts.
- Add and close Student APEX courses.
