Position Overview:
The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing specialized ultrasound procedures in line with organizational policies and professional standards of care. This position requires the use of advanced knowledge, critical thinking, and judgment to ensure high-quality diagnostic images are obtained.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for ultrasound exams by explaining the procedure and addressing any questions or concerns.
Position patients and equipment to ensure proper alignment and optimal image quality.
Operate ultrasound machinery, adjusting settings as needed to capture the clearest images.
Monitor patients during procedures to ensure their comfort and safety.
Review and process images to confirm they meet established quality standards.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnostic procedures.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or certificate in diagnostic medical sonography or a related field.
RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) certification or equivalent.
Proficiency with ultrasound equipment and related technology.
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
