Qualifications:
Skill in the use of computers and related software applications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in medical technology, clinical laboratory,
Experience - Less than 1 Year of Experience
ASCP-Cytologist (ASCP-CT), Specialist in Cytology-ASCP (SCT): Must have CT or SCT from ASCP
Responsibilities:
Cytotechnologist 1 screens gynecological cytology specimens, renders an appropriate diagnosis, and triages abnormal gynecologic cases to pathologists.
Pre-screens non-gynecologic cytology cases for pathologist review
Participates in other quality control initiatives and assists as needed in a variety of laboratory functions
Completes screening and computer entry of diagnosis for gynecological and non-gynecological cases
Participates in cytology department quality assurance and quality control program
Contributes to the education of others and continues own education
