At MLT, we create solutions by empowering our people to fulfill their passion for service. We are seeking an Engineer III to provide support to the existing Program Manager, Advanced Amphibious Assault (PM AAA) contract.
The specific tasks and requirements may include, but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines needed to complete the projects within an ACAT I program. Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates detailed phases of the engineering or scientific work in a project or performs work that involves conventional engineering or scientific practices. Formulates project parameters and assigns responsibilities to the most capable team members of the project team. Performs quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance; and report on project status. Typical work may include research, development, design, testing, logistics, analysis, production, maintenance, operation, planning, estimating, application, or standardization of engineering facilities, systems, structures, software applications, firmware, processes equipment, devices, or materials. Generates specifications or plans to support the development of acquisition documentation. Supports technical findings, opinions or recommendations. Performs customer liaison, makes presentations and attends customer meetings. Review Vendor manufacturing data and provide technical assessments of the data electronically; Review acceptance test plans and reports; and provide support to the MRAs and PRRs. Assess vehicle obsolescence issues; Consults with stakeholders on technical applications to support program management decisions. Travel expected up to 25% of the time.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Math, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or another relevant field.
Specific/Preferred Requirements:
Project planning and management experience. The ability to work with multiple discipline projects. Exhibits exceptional organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Cooperates and communicates with the Project Manager and other project participants, and collaborates with team members to create more efficient project methods. Interacts with the customer, interprets their needs and requirements, and represents them in the field. Formulates project parameters and assigns responsibilities to the most capable team members of the project team. Performs quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance; and report on project status. Develops specifications for the project's needed equipment. Creates frameworks to measure the project's metrics and data collection. Establishes field test methods and methods for monitoring the quality of those tests. Ensures the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications. Demonstrate excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software (proficiency in AutoCAD, CREO or other engineering design programs preferred). Support the manufacturing lead in the development of Government manufacturing efforts to support the PM AAA SE processes during AAV and ACV program milestones; and Conduct on-site (Vendor’s facilities) assessment of the Vendor’s production progress and execution; and execute acceptance tests on a monthly basis. Experience with Assault Amphibious Vehicle or heavy equipment projects preferred. Experience with ASME Y14 standard as it pertains to engineering drawings, including but not limited to, format, dimensioning, tolerances, and best practices. Experiences with IEEE 15288 or equivalent in development, management, or leading of systems engineering technical (SETRs).
