Responsibilities
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain new electrical or electronic wiring equipment.
- Diagnose existing systems and components to identify electrical problems or failures.
- Prepare sketches and analyze blueprints, schematics, and drawings of electrical systems for new or upgraded installations.
- Utilize a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
- Work from ladders, bucket trucks, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Construct and fabricate parts using hand tools and specifications.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches to lay conduit and moving and lifting heavy objects.
- Provide assistance during emergencies by operating floodlights, generators, and driving vehicles as needed to restore power.
- Maintain assigned vehicle, equipment, and tools to ensure availability in a safe operating condition.
- Coordinate with assigned Foreman and other trades to complete projects and work orders efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, and subordinates via telephone, written form, email, or in person.
- Stay updated technically and apply new knowledge to job functions.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and drawings.
- Experience with a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work from heights.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
