What are the responsibilities and job description for the INSURANCE VERIFICATION SPECIALIST position at MMC #1?
Primarily works with Hospital Owned Physician Practices, Rural Health Clinics, and Provider Based Departments.
Communicate with all Front Office Staff effectively.
Identify and document all patient accounts accurately based on what type of insurance product the patient has, PPO, HMO, other Managed Care Organizations, Medicare Advantage Plans, Government plans, Motor Vehicle or Workman Compensation policies.
Accurately and efficiently inputs patient demographics as needed.
Completes accurate and timely insurance eligibility verifications.
Is courteous, pleasant and polite to patients when verifying insurance via phone call.
Efficiently uses on-line resources for patient information verification.
Confirms referrals or authorizations as needed prior to patient visit
Accurately verifies insurance eligibility.
Advanced knowledge of In-Network and Out of Network processing
Performs other duties as assigned.
