What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retirement Plan Consultant position at MMG?
The open position is on a team and will report to a senior manager. The team includes a senior manager who handles most client communications and plan analysts who handle the trust accounting. Distributions are handled by a separate department as are participant mailings.
The candidate should be an energetic and enthusiastic individual with at least two years of experience in administration, testing, and reporting for balance forward and daily valuation defined contribution plans. Experience with New Comparability-type plan designs and/or defined benefit plans is a plus, but not required. Experience converting plan assets between providers is considered highly desirable.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- client communications
- plan consulting / administration
- annual valuation reports
- Forms 5500, ADP/ACP testing, and compliance under Sections 401(a)(4), 410(b), 415
- Experience with trust accounting and asset reconciliation is preferred
Successful candidates will possess:
- Experience with recordkeeping, spreadsheet and word processing applications
- Strong accounting skills
- ASPPA and/or CEBS designations are a plus
- ASC record-keeping software experience will be considered a strong plus
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
The successful candidate will work with our existing team of Plan Consultants, Case Managers and Senior Administrators, Client Service Representatives and attorneys in providing our clients with superior plan services and administration of their employee retirement plans.
