Duties
- Perform ultrasound examinations on patients, including but not limited to breast, abdominal, and pelvic exams.
- Utilize diagnostic radiology techniques to obtain high-quality images for interpretation by physicians.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety during procedures, providing clear instructions and support throughout the imaging process.
- Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to safety protocols to minimize risks associated with medical imaging.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss findings and contribute to patient care plans.
- Document patient information accurately, including medical history, examination details, and results.
- Stay updated on advancements in sonography technology and techniques to enhance service delivery.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to ultrasound procedures.
Requirements
- Certification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) or equivalent is required.
- Proven experience in sonography or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of anatomy knowledge and physiology knowledge as it pertains to ultrasound imaging.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medical imaging practices is essential.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining professionalism at all times.
- Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
