Warehouse Custodian

Position Overview:
The Warehouse Custodian is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, orderliness, and overall upkeep of the warehouse facility. The role involves maintaining a safe and clean environment for employees and goods, as well as supporting the warehouse team in various cleaning and maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Warehouse Cleaning and Maintenance:
• Sweep, mop, and clean all areas of the warehouse, including floors, aisles, restrooms, and break rooms.
• Clean windows, doors, and other glass surfaces within the warehouse.
• Remove trash, recyclables, and debris from the premises and ensure proper disposal.
• Sanitize surfaces and equipment to meet hygiene standards.
• Dust and wipe down shelves, storage units, and other equipment.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Ensure that cleaning practices are consistent with safety regulations and guidelines.
• Monitor and report any potential hazards (e.g., spills, obstructions) to maintain a safe working environment.
• Ensure proper disposal of cleaning chemicals and materials in accordance with environmental standards.
• Support to Warehouse Operations:
• Assist in organizing the warehouse by maintaining clear pathways and accessible areas for forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
• Report any maintenance issues (e.g., lighting, HVAC systems) to the Facilities Manager.
• Perform minor repairs to equipment and structures when necessary.
• Inventory and Supplies Management:
• Keep track of cleaning supplies and request replenishments as needed.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.
• Other Duties:
• Support other custodial or warehouse tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of warehouse events or meetings.
• Help with seasonal deep cleaning projects as required.

Qualifications:

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and techniques.
• Ability to operate cleaning machinery (e.g., floor scrubbers, vacuums) safely.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with warehouse staff.

Working Conditions:

• Warehouse environment, including exposure to various weather conditions, noise, and warehouse machinery.
• Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, lifting, and working with cleaning equipment.

Hours and Pay:

Monday to Friday, 2nd Shift - 3:30pm to 12:00am - $16hr

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
