Concrete Quality Inspector

This role involves performing concrete testing, monitoring curing conditions, and verifying compliance with specifications.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect bed set-up to ensure reinforcement, plate locations, and structural connections align with shop drawings.
• Identify and document nonconforming items, notifying the appropriate personnel for corrective action.
• Perform concrete testing, including slump tests, unit weights, air content, and cylinder strength tests (release and 28-day).
• Set up and monitor steam curing temperatures to ensure proper curing conditions.
• Oversee finishing procedures in the finishing shed.
• Conduct final product inspections, tagging conforming products and documenting nonconforming products for engineering review.
• Verify that repairs on red-tagged items meet engineering specifications before approval.
• Document all non-conformance issues and submit reports to the Engineering Department.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in quality control, concrete testing, or precast concrete manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with PCI standards and concrete testing procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in an industrial setting with exposure to heavy materials and equipment.

Salary info:

$23 - $28 / hr
