Join the MN DNR - Forestry team as a Senior Forestry Management Role, responsible for leading the State Land Management – Timber Program in the Backus Forestry Area. This position serves as a Program Team Leader, overseeing program management practices within an area and acting as lead worker for professional employees and contractors.
- Develop and administer budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to allotments.
- Implement field assignments under the lead of area program foresters.
- C coordinate information and education in assigned programs to inform the public and colleagues of new developments in methods and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and Administer the State Land Management – Timber Program at the Area administrative level.
- Develop and Coordinate management of policies and plans relating to the timber sales program in the Area.
- Implement Law Enforcement activities at the Area to enforce fire, timber, lands and state forest rules and statutes fairly and thoroughly.
As a Wildland Fire and Timber Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
- Motivating people and obtaining program commitment from area personnel.
- Assigning and monitoring the work of staff; resolving problems with loggers, clients, the public, and other employees.
- Negotiating, resolving issues, reading situations, and settling disputes equitably by finding common ground and cooperation.
