Role Overview
This is your shot to shine as a Senior/Lead Automotive Diagnostic Technician. You’ll spearhead complex diagnostics and repairs, assess parts for recycling, and maintain our fleet—all at lightning speed. Working on all makes and models (mostly 3–20 years old, averaging 10–12 years), you’ll set the pace with cutting-edge skills and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer & Resale Repairs (40-50%): Lead diagnostics and repairs with advanced tools and programming expertise.
- Parts Vehicle Assessments (20-40%): Perform blind diagnostics on end-of-life vehicles for resale or recycling.
- Fleet Maintenance (Remaining Time): Deliver top-tier repairs to keep our fleet rolling.
- Oversee multiple projects with speed and flawless execution.
- Guide a small team or assistant to crush it every day.
- Maintain precise records of diagnostics, repairs, and parts.
- Partner with service advisors, sales, and recycling teams for seamless results.
Qualifications
- 5 years as an automotive diagnostic technician.
- Mastery of modern diagnostic tools and vehicle programming.
- Proven ability to crack tough issues independently.
- ASE certifications (A1-A8) preferred.
- Leadership experience or mentoring chops.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
- Can lift 50–100 lbs and handle a busy shop.
Job Details
- Type: Full-time
- Pay: $35–$50 /hour, based on experience ($50 for rockstars)
- Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday, day shift (no weekends)
