Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide direct support in mobility and lifting as needed to ensure client safety.
- Observe and report any changes in clients' conditions or behaviors to appropriate personnel.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Offer memory care support for clients experiencing cognitive challenges such as dementia.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients at all times.
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality and privacy.
- Administer first aid or CPR when necessary, ensuring prompt response to emergencies.
Skills
- Strong ability to assist with physical tasks, including lifting and mobility support.
- Excellent patient observation skills to monitor changes in health or behavior.
- Experience or training in memory care techniques is preferred.
- Knowledge of direct support practices in a nursing home or similar setting is advantageous.
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality.
- Compassionate demeanor with excellent communication skills to foster trust with clients.
