Primary Responsibilities:
- Create a positive and challenging environment that is conducive to high performance and teamwork and a great place to work.
- Serve the team by creating an incident-free environment by emphasizing safety daily, leading by example, involving all team members, promoting a safety culture achieving excellent housekeeping and workplace organization, and executing clear safety policies.
- Own the preventative maintenance and scheduling of work for equipment and the facility.
- Be a Team Player by leading and holding accountable all operations workers to work safely under all circumstances.
- Work until the job is done right to ensure that products necessary to complete quoted orders arrive to meet customers’ expectations.
- Coordinate with regional buyer, branch management, and sales staff on the incoming product, outgoing product, and inventory levels.
- Responsible for all facets of incoming product: Verify the quality, counts, and correct size as it relates to the branch’s expectations and order paperwork.
- Select, stage, load, QC, and coordinate outbound orders.
- Manage and organize all MNI Direct product in the yard such as label/tag material
- Maintain plant health in order to maximize sell ability and reduce loss.
- Operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with local, state & federal transportation regulations, as well as OSHA standards.
- Minimize loss to the product in proper ordering, receiving, and maintenance.
- Responsible for irrigation and general order of the yard
- Perform procurement-related administrative duties
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Skills, Knowledge & Training
- Education/Experience:
- High School diploma or secondary diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in Horticulture field preferred
- 3 years of experience in nursery or landscape management
- Ability to read, write and speak well in English is required; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Ability to load and unload products with a skid steer.
- Skills and Training:
- Above-average industry knowledge
- Above-average ability to operate the MNI Direct customer ordering and inventory system.
- Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with all business associates.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with above average skill in Excel
- Expert customer service skills
- Strongly preferred to have state plant certification
- Possess and maintain a valid, clean state Driver’s License.
Physical Requirements:
- Duties require prolonged walking, standing, bending, and squatting.
- Duties require working outside in extreme weather conditions.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly.
