Minnesota Internship Center High School (www.mnic.org) is a Twin Cities Charter School with 4 campuses located in Minneapolis and St Paul. Description: Minnesota Internship Center Charter High School is seeking candidates for a Safety and Support Staff. The duties of this position include ensuring the safety of staff and students, enforcing rules and regulations for students, and assisting staff when disciplinary actions need to be taken for a student.
Qualifications: Candidates should have experience working in an Educational setting. Experience working with secondary students is preferred. MNIC Charter School seeks Safety and Support personnel to support the student and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is a self-starter and can work independently or as part of a team.
The ideal candidate will create a safe and engaging environment for the students and staff while promoting MNICs' culture and policies. The position requires following all program policies and procedures, including health and safety. In addition, the opportunity to work with youth aged 14-20 in a dynamic environment.

- We are looking for individuals that are willing to be a strong presence in our buildings addressing behavioral issues as they come up in a restorative and solutions-based approach.
- They have a passion for working with young adults and helping them walk on the right path.
- They have dynamic, high-energy, student-centered and effective styles working with students. They are self-motivated, able to work in a team environment, dependable, and able to effectively adapt and deescalate high-stress situations.
- The position will require that you provide social, emotional, and behavior intervention consultation with students and families. Provide social, emotional, and behavior intervention consultation with students and classroom teachers. As well as provide social skills, instruction, and support for students.
- Our ideal candidate has the ability to connect to our students by building relationships that will benefit all learners and create a positive, successful learning environment.
- Safety Support staff are expected to commit to outreach in the community. In addition, it requires the ability to recruit new students in Community Outreach. Travel will be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Open the building every morning.
- Greet students and staff upon entering.
- Screening and wanding of students and their belongings.
- Light Data Entry
- Organizing and leading youth groups
- Assist in recruiting and maintaining retention.
- Some home visits will be required during working hours.
- Other duties assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to pass a background check.
