Position Overview:
MNL is a full-service ecological restoration company. We provide decades of experience, knowledge, industry leadership and a variety of services. Our services range from backyard native seeding to large-scale restoration, bioengineering and everything in between.
MNL's Greenhouse division is proud to have produced and provided millions of native perennials to be introduced into local ecosystems. On an annual basis, our passionate team will seed, grow, and distribute 200 species, each of which fit a unique and valuable niche in developing habitats. A position as Greenhouse Technician at MNL will provide hands on experience in the production and distribution of native plants, while working in an outdoor and greenhouse setting, alongside a supportive team of native plant enthusiasts.
Seasonal positions run from April to September, with staggering start and end dates in accommodation for applicants available only through summer months. Though it is necessary to maintain a regular work schedule, applicants may enjoy defining their set schedule so as to accommodate other obligations. There is availability for Part Time, Full Time, and potentially overtime for those interested. Please provide preference for seasonality and scheduling in application. Weekend availability is encouraged and may be prioritized.
There are multiple positions available for Seasonal work including both Greenhouse Production Technician and Greenhouse Fulfillment Technician. Applicants are encouraged to apply for any and all positions of interest.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Plant Production: Assist in all stages of the native plant growth cycle, including seeding, transplanting, watering, trimming, weeding, etc.
- Self-motivate and maintain consistent daily output, while navigating periods of working in both stationary and mobile work environments
- Maintain high quality and efficiency while performing repetitive tasks of a physical nature
- Accurately record production and other applicable metrics
- Assist with monitoring plant health, growing conditions, pest management and troubleshooting
- Physically transport bulk quantities of plant inventory as they develop through the production cycle
- Take pride in producing quality native plants to be shared with the public
- Occasional Order fulfillment: assembling and packaging orders, assisting in quality management
- Occasional Greenhouse infrastructure: assisting with facilities upkeep and maintenance
- Occasional Seed production and Field maintenance: field planting, weed mitigation, seed collecting, seed processing
Required Qualifications:
- Experience working in horticulture, landscaping, agriculture, construction, or other trades preferred
- Interest in native plants and ecosystems
- Ability to follow direction, work individually and work within a team
- Ability to perform physical labor and work in adverse weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and means of transportation
- Ability to maintain regular work schedule
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
- Prolonged periods of time standing
- Prolonged periods of time moving/lifting/transporting inventory
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and reach
- Must be able to work in greenhouse conditions, as well as in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain and snow
