MNL, a leader in ecological restoration, has an opening for a Superintendent to work for our Construction Department. The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and performing small to large scale ecological restoration projects throughout Minnesota and the Midwest. Requires strong communication skills to ensure safe and accurate project completion. This position requires the potential of up to 75% travel with overnights.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Tasks involved with the successful installation of small to large scale restoration projects, including but not limited to grading, site preparation, seeding, planting, erosion control, and forestry.
Variety of restoration duties, utilizing large equipment such as dozers, excavators, off road trucks, forestry equipment, etc.Variety of restoration duties utilizing various types of equipment, such as skid loaders, 3pt implements, hand tools, ATV / UTVs, mowers, weed whips, chainsaws, powered augers, etc.Lead a team of foreman, operators, field staff, and subcontractors on projects both near MNL Headquarters and also out of town.Maintain work records and associated paperwork, including daily work and safety logs.Maintain and adhere to all out of state work requirements.Communicates daily job tasks and expectations to field staff.Communicates project updates to company project managers, customers, and field operations manager.Adhere to and enforce MNL policies, procedures, and safety standards.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications :
2 years of experience working in landscaping, agriculture, or construction.2 years of lead experience.Knowledge and experience in earth moving activities / heavy equipment / civil workKnowledge in one of more forms of ecological restoration or construction related work.Experience with the safe operation and general maintenance of tools and equipment.Ability to read and navigate maps and project plans as well as accurately follow directions.Must have or be willing to acquire within the first 3 months (with company assistance), a class A CDL driver's license with air brake and tanker endorsements.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Basic computer knowledge, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 preferred.Must be able to pass a criminal background check.Demonstrated success with living the company's values of passion for the mission to "Heal the Earth", craftsmanship, innovation, grit, and positivity.Physical Requirements :
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach, and move as needed in order to complete various installation duties.Prolonged periods of time standing.Able to work long hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends; work hours may be reduced during the winter season.Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold.Overnight travel, within state and other states, up to 75% of the time; includes per diem payments for lodging and food.Union Status : Non-represented
