What are the responsibilities and job description for the Superintendent - Construction position at MNL?
MNL, a leader in ecological restoration, has an opening for a Superintendent to work on a large-scale project for our Construction Department based out of the Fargo-Moorhead office. The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and leading a team of equipment operators working on this large-scale ecological restoration project in Fargo, ND. Requires strong communication and organizational skills to ensure safe and accurate project on time completion. This project and many others are prevailing wage paying above base rate.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee and Conduct:
- Tasks involved with for successful installation of this restoration project, including but not limited to site preparation, seeding, planting, erosion control, and .
- Variety of restoration duties, utilizing large equipment such as Agricultural tractors with implements, dozers, excavators, off road trucks, forestry equipment, etc.
- Variety of restoration duties utilizing various types of equipment, such as skid loaders, 3pt implements, hand tools, ATV/UTVs, mowers, weed whips, chainsaws, powered augers, etc.
- Lead a team of foreman, operators, field staff, and subcontractors on projects both near the Fargo-Moorhead area.
- Maintain work records and associated paperwork, including daily work and safety logs.
- Maintain and adhere to all state and federal work requirements.
- Communicates daily job tasks and expectations to field staff, provide leadership and guidance to them.
- Communicates project updates to company project managers, customers, and the MNL leadership team
- Adhere to and enforce MNL policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience working in landscaping, agriculture, or construction.
- 2 years of lead experience.
- Knowledge and experience in heavy equipment/civil work
- Knowledge in one of more forms of ecological restoration or construction related work.
- Experience with the safe operation and general maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and navigate maps and project plans as well as accurately follow directions.
- Must have or be willing to acquire within the first 3 months (with company assistance), a class A CDL driver's license with air brake and tanker endorsements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer knowledge, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 preferred.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach, and move as needed in order to complete various installation duties.
- Prolonged periods of time standing.
- Able to work long hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and occasionally overnight or weekends; work hours may be reduced during the winter season.
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold.
- If overnight travel, it includes per diem payments for lodging and food.
