Position: VAX COBOL Developer Location: Onsite in Davenport, Iowa (No exceptions)
Type: Contract 1 Year (Possible extensions)
Start Date: ASAP
We're looking for a VAX COBOL Developer to support a legacy shop floor system for a key client in Davenport, Iowa. This is a long-term, fully onsite opportunity with high visibility and critical system support responsibilities.
Must-Have Technical Skills:
Shop Floor System Application:
- COBOL-85
- OpenVMS
- DCL
- RDB (Oracle) using VAX SQL
- ACMS, TDMS Forms
- CDD / Object Library understanding
- ACMS Debugger
- DDX (internal store/forward messaging) or similar experience
MLP (Mill Load Planner) Application:
- COBOL-85
- FORTRAN
- Powerhouse / Quiz
- OpenVMS, DCL
- ISAM File Structure
Additional Skills:
- Strong written & verbal communication
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint
- Comfortable interacting with production users
- Willing to support a 24x7 manufacturing environment (occasional off-hours support)
- Manufacturing industry experience is a plus
- Familiarity with ICMS tool is a bonus
